Darren Bravo: News

It is only fair to assume that Dwayne Bravo's half-brother and Brian Lara's first cousin will have cricket in his blood. However, it will be considered a stretch to imagine that the same person will have Lara's walk, his backlift, his leap after a century. In West Indian cricketer Darren Bravo's case, it is not a stretch. For someone who used to switch off his TV after Lara got out, Bravo certainly has his idol in him. Another comparison between the two, though unfortunate, is that both played for a struggling West Indies team. Bravo made his domestic debut for Trinidad and Tobago in 2007. His first international assignment came in an ODI against India in 2009. For someone who liked to spend time in the middle of the pitch, Bravo was without a century in his first 31 ODIs and nine Tests. He made his first century against Bangladesh in a Test match in 2011. In the next tour to India, he became only the second player after Jimmy Adams to score more than 400 runs against India in a three-match series. Bravo played for West Indies in all three formats of the game as of 2021.
